Based on user feedback and our own experience, this is currently the best and most complete guide available, and it explains the process even better than our own tutorial.

Required Software & Firmware Versions (Pinball Haptics Kit)

To ensure the X-Force Haptics Kit works correctly, the following software and firmware versions are required. Please review carefully before troubleshooting any haptics-related issues.

1. Arcade2TV Software (PC Only)

Version: v1.0.14 — REQUIRED

This PC software is mandatory when using the Pinball Haptics Kit.

  • Required for proper haptics communication
  • Older versions may result in no vibration or incorrect feedback
  • PC only (not required for standalone Quest use)

2. Arcade2TV-XR Controller Firmware

Version: v3.62 — REQUIRED

This firmware version is mandatory for Pinball Haptics Kit compatibility.

  • Required for correct haptics triggering
  • Older firmware versions are not supported

3. Gen2 Wireless Dongle Firmware

Version: v3.41V2 — No update required

  • All Gen2 dongles we currently ship already come with v3.41V2
  • No firmware update is needed at this time

4. Haptics PCB Firmware

Version: v1.4 — No update required

  • All X-Force Haptics Kits are shipped with v1.4 pre-installed
  • Firmware update is not required and not recommended

Version: v1.6 — Beta

Firmware v1.6 introduces important improvements to plunger and nudge behavior, focusing on reliability and consistency during gameplay.

In previous firmware versions, the nudge action could occasionally become inactive or fail to trigger. This was caused by an internal protection mechanism related to plunger behavior.

When the plunger is released, mechanical vibration can sometimes resemble a push-nudge action. To prevent unintended nudges, earlier firmware versions temporarily disabled (banned) nudge input immediately after plunger release. While this successfully reduced false nudges, it could also lead to situations where the nudge remained disabled longer than intended, making it appear as though the nudge was not working.

Improvements in v1.6

Firmware v1.6 resolves this issue through an updated internal algorithm that improves how plunger and nudge signals are handled together:

• Nudge will no longer become unintentionally disabled after plunger release
• False push-nudge triggers caused by plunger vibration are prevented
• Nudge responsiveness is restored consistently after plunger actions

As a result, plunger release, vibration handling, and nudge detection now work together more reliably, providing stable and predictable nudge behavior across supported pinball titles.
